XA & XW Short-Body Emergency Stop Switches

IDEC XA and XW Short-Body Emergency Stop (E-stop) Switches feature illuminated switches with a reverse energy structure, providing a fundamental safety element for industrial automation. The XA and XW series offer the shortest depth in the IDEC X family at 16mm and 22mm, respectively. When active, the E-stop cap will illuminate with a bright red color in emergency situations. The E-stop will return to a white color when inactive. The IDEC XA and XW Short-Body Switches meet various safety and durability standards for use in industrial applications, including robotics, automated guided vehicles (AGV), autonomous mobile robots (AMR), electric vehicle (EV) quick chargers, and wireless remote controls. The E-stops have an escape structure and safety lock mechanism for user safety.

XA 16mm Emergency Stop Switches

IDEC XA 16mm Emergency Stop (E-Stop) Switches feature Safe Break Action technology and come in two button sizes of ø29mm and ø40mm. Conventional E-Stop switches are constructed with spring pressure on the normally closed (NC) contacts, keeping them in the closed position and allowing the machine to operate. However, excessive force or improper installation can cause the stop button to break or dislodge a vital part, making the spring-loaded contact stay closed. The Safe Break Action design reverses the energy direction and uses the spring pressure to ensure the NC contacts will open if the emergency switch is damaged or the contact blocks separate due to excessive force. Also, IDEC E-Stop Switches with Safe Break Action technology meet or exceed international safety standards of ISO 13850 and EN60947-5-5 due to automatically turning off machines when the contact block and actuator are improperly installed or damaged.
