Varistors

KEMET Varistors protect circuits from high energy discharges and offer a voltage range of 8VAC to 300VAC and 11VDC to 385VDC. These varistors have a wide range of SMD sizes and are all AEC-Q200 compliant. The product family features the VM, VK, VA, VC, VE, VG, and VP series, ideally suited for targeted uses. KEMET Varistors are ideal for automotive electronics, industrial, and consumer electronic applications.

VP SMD 85°C Plastic Encapsulated Varistors

KEMET VP SMD 85°C Plastic Encapsulated Varistors are designed to protect electronic equipment against high voltage surges in the low and medium voltage range. The VP series offers direct SMD equivalents to leaded disc varistors of 5mm and 7mm sizes. The thermoplastic encapsulation is non-flammable according to UL 94V-0 standards and the contacts are made of a tinned copper sheet. These transient voltage suppressors cover an operating voltage from 11VRMS to 300VRMS with a maximum surge current from 100A to 1200A.
